I am what you might call a very eclectic and all-encompassing geek. I watch a wide selection of movies, cartoons, and anime while also making time for role-playing games, video games, and collectibles. I do some writing and web design on the side. My interests tend to be in the area of classic high fantasy, but I also read occasional manga and graphic novels as well. I am also a fan of classic monster and Kaiju movies.

Makes Me Feel Like a Kid Again

I was an avid reader as a child, but my selection of books was somewhat limited. I lived out in the country so a trip to the local library wasn’t something I could frequently do, and my school library only had so many options. Back then, everything listed here was what you might call a “staple” for a library to have, and I read all of them and some of them a couple times. I became good friends with my school librarian to the point when I hadn’t seen her for 15 years she still recognized me immediately when I had to stop by the school for work.

Fantastic Fantasy Forays

幻想一直是我初恋的时候来了s to reading, and these were some of the items that helped create that love. Almost every book I have read in the last 20 years has had some sort of fantasy theme, whether it was high fantasy, like what is listed here, urban fantasy, or graphic novels. I tend to prefer series when reading because if I enjoy something I don’t want it to be over after just one book. I honestly can’t remember the last time I read something that wasn’t a part of a series or at least somehow a part of a wide range of media based in that setting.

From Video Games to the Written Word

To be honest, I play video games far more than I read. But, when I find a game I really love, I try to absorb every medium of it I can find including movies, TV series, novels, and comic books. I grow to love the characters and worlds so much that I just can’t help but want to learn more about them, their histories, and, in some cases, their futures. Here is a list of some of my favorites.

Manga? Anime? I Love Both

I tend to lean slightly more in the direction of watching anime rather than reading manga because then I can multitask, etc. But if I find an anime I like I tend to also read the manga just to see the differences and how things transferred from page to screen. Most manga fans have read or at least heard of things like Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Naruto. This is a list of some of the more uncommon manga I have discovered and really enjoyed, most, if not all, of which I have also watched the accompanying anime and would recommend as well.
